UK Dog Behaviour and Training Charter

Last week saw the unveiling of the new Dog training Charter in the UK. In my personal opinion something like this has been a long time coming. For many years the dog training industry has been unregulated and effectively a free for all.

In April 2020 seven of the leading dog training organisations got together and discussed the need for self regulation and improved dog welfare within the industry. There are people out there who still believe that pain and punishment are the best ways to train our four legged friends! (No idea why! No I don't agree with them but that's a rant for another time!)

As an Assessed and Qualified Member of The Institute of Modern Dog Trainers I am proud to display the UK Dog Behaviour & Training Charter symbol.

The charter will provide dog owners with a vote of confidence that if they choose a trainer whom is associated with the charter that they have been assessed, supported and monitored by a professional accrediting member organisation.

If you are looking for a dog trainer then I would highly recommend the 'Find a trainer' section on the IMDT website. This tool can be found by clicking here.

If you would like any more information on the Charter it can be found on their website which can be found by clicking here.

As always Thank you for reading and look out for our next post!
